• English education is at the core of the work that we do. For our beneficiaries, the ability to speak English gives them the opportunity to earn a higher wage, or to run their family business better. Without the ability to speak English, locals of the Koh Rong islands are in danger of standing on the sidelines as the tourism industry grows around them. We offer English classes to both adults and children, five days a week, completely free of charge.

  • Here at Friends of Koh Rong, we firmly believe that education should be an enjoyable experience. We offer a range of extra-curricular activities to engender a love of learning and to let our students shine!

  • Government healthcare simply does not exist within the community we work in, and nutritional standards amongst children are some of the poorest in the world. Friends of Koh Rong provides basic healthcare to the community, and seeks to address malnutrition.

  • The Cambodian islands are now a popular stop on the backpacker trail of South East Asia. Waste management, water/sanitation and healthcare systems/services are almost non-existent, and the growing population is placing a great strain on the island’s existing resources.
